About the event

This talk introduces some of the key concepts developed by philosopher Gilles Deleuze and psychoanalyst Félix Guattari in their Capitalism and Schizophrenia series, with a particular focus on their political philosophy and in the context of the revolutionary events of May ’68 in France. Where the student-led uprising was inexplicable according to the contemporary models of subjectivity and identity available at the time, Deleuze and Guattari argue that we must look beyond our interpretative models to the continual production of the population's subjectivity and desire, linking revolutionary events to a reposing of the problem of society and social life.
